Competitions
Tuesday is the main Ladies Day and a good opportunity to meet fellow lady members. If you are a working lady or prefer to play at weekends there is an alternate day for all competitions, which varies between Saturday and Sunday. Ladies can also take part in any of the mixed competitions along with the men. These can all be booked through How Did I Do (HDID) our booking system. We also run a number of friendly competitions throughout the year, which you can play in without a handicap. The entry fee for competitions must be paid prior to commencing play, normally by topping up your competition balance on the Members Hub on the club website. For knockout competitions, players will need to register their intent to play (usually by end of March) via HDID (knockouts). To be eligible to enter, you must be available to play on Finals Day in September (see comp for details).
Please contact the competitions organiser who can help you with any questions relating to booking into any of our competitions.
Friday Social Golf
Some of our new ladies and those wishing to play socially meet on Friday mornings for 10 holes of relaxed golf. One of our lady members organises this.
Friendly Matches
Friendly matches are played several times a year at various local golf clubs on a reciprocal basis and at a very reduced rate. These matches are arranged by two of our members.
North-West Lady Golfers (NWLG)
Anne Paton is the Portal organiser for the NWLG which is made up from a number of Northwest based golf club Ladies sections. There is an annual fee followed by a reduced green fee at each golf club which hosts NWLG competitions. If you would like to join the NWLG then please contact Anne.
Exchange Days
Each year, the Portal Ladies committee organises one or two exchange days with a Ladies section from another golf club. These days are an opportunity to meet other ladies, socialize, and engage in friendly competition. They are good fun, so please keep your eye on the notice board in the locker room for more information.
