Thank you so much to those of you who have supported my chosen charity during my year as Captain.
My chosen charity is Cheshire Downs Syndrome Support Group (CDSSG), which is personal to me and also my brother is a trustee. It is also local and doesn’t benefit from any national contributions.
CDSSG is a small local charity based in Northwich supporting families and children with Down’s Syndrome (DS) in Cheshire. They connect with other local and regional Down’s Syndrome groups and meet regularly to share ideas and best practice; also working with the Down’s Syndrome Association (DSA) to make services and resources accessible.
The charity was established in 2007 by a group of local mums who all had babies with DS and has grown to support over 190 children and young people with DS and their families. It is entirely self-funded and reliant on support from families and volunteers.
It offers family support, education, friendship groups, awareness, events and training and so much more…
